Janet Kay (Fowler) Jones

Janet Kay Jones, age 91 of Grant, passed away late Saturday evening, March 29, 2025 at her home.  She was born on May 28, 1933 in Isle Saint George, Ohio to William Owen & Clara Elizabeth (Kempton) Fowler.  Janet had worked at the State Hotel in Newaygo as a cook, and she was a caregiver for family and neighbors.  She loved kids, flowers, and gardening.  On July 20, 1968 she married James C. Jones and he preceded her in death on January 14, 2013.  Janet was also preceded in death by her brothers:  Francis LeRoy Fowler, Joe Fowler, Tom Fowler, & Bob Fowler; sisters:  Nora Houston & Eloda Dorn.  She is survived by 8 children:  Gladys (Jones) Folger, James “Roy” (Pam) Jones, Arnold Jones & his former wife Elizabeth Jones, Lorena (Jones) Kooienga, Marilyn (David Archer) Bean, Allan (Gail) Fowler, Claude (Dawn) Jones, Marsha (Dave) Norwood; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, & great-great grandchildren.  Janet is also survived by 2 sisters, Martha Hicks & Keitha Loomis; sisters-in-law:  Myrtle Jones, Darlene Jones, LaVina (Tom) Force, Sr.; and by many nieces & nephews.  A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 2-5 PM at the Hesperia American Legion Post #411.  Suggested Memorials:  Alzheimer’s Association or Corewell Health Hospice.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
