Jayden “Jay” Robert Wiersema, age 22 of Fremont, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 31, 2023. He was born on February 23, 2001 in Fremont, Michigan to Bob & Misty Wiersema. Jay graduated from Fremont High School in 2019, and then joined the IBEW Union Local 876. He was currently a lineman apprentice and loved his job. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ATV riding. Jay is survived by his parents, Bob & Misty Wiersema; sister, Avery (fiance Brent Tanis) Wiersema; grandparents: Larry & Jane Wiersema, Sandy & Mike Ferrier, Steve Puchalla, Kenneth Haught, Julie Puchalla; great-grandma, Lea Puchalla; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends; and by his girlfriend & her son, Andrea Ross & Ethan. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Len Puchalla, Bruce & Irene Wiersema, Bob & Kay Mills. Jay will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He has left a hole in their lives and hearts that will never be filled. Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Nate Kooistra officiating. There will be a time of visiting with the family at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 5-8 PM on Friday. Suggested Memorial: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention .
