Jean Lois (Prickett) Lorenz

Jean Lois Lorenz, age 83 of Fremont and formerly of Holton, passed away early Thursday morning, October 20, 2022 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont.  She was born on February 3, 1939 in Muskegon, Michigan to Hershal and Sadie Prickett.  Jean had been employed by Standard Automotive in Muskegon, and by the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont.  She had attended Holton United Methodist Church, and she was a member of the Holton American Legion Post 397 Auxiliary.  Jean enjoyed doing puzzles, crafting, playing cards, and deer hunting.  On September 12, 1964 she married Chuck Lorenz, and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2009.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Larry Mastin; grandson, Pete Newcomb; and by her sister Lucille Bulson.  Jean is survived by 4 daughters:  Sandy (Mike) Baker, Judy (Al) Cavan, Linda (Claud) Newcomb, Carol Ann Mastin; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home in Fremont with Pastor Matt Stoll officiating.  Visitation will also be on Friday from 10-11 A.M.  Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.  Suggested Memorials:  The Newaygo County Compassion Home, or the Holton American Legion Post 397 Auxiliary.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
