Jim Krouse

Jim Krouse, age 79 of Fremont, passed away on Thursday evening, July 31, 2025 at his home.  He was born on March 16, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana to Parker & Marion (Davies) Krouse.  Jim had worked in the Transportation Department for Fremont Public Schools for over 10 years, where he led the conversion of their school buses to propane.  He also worked for 27 years at Smith’s Propane in Fremont until his retirement.  Jim enjoyed hunting, boating, spending time at his cabin on Bois Blanc Island, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.  On February 5, 1965 he married Gay Dykman and she survives him along with 2 sons:  Brett (Sheri) Krouse, Chad (Sandy) Krouse; 6 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by 2 sisters, Dora (Richard) Brimmer and Kathryn (Bruce) DeGroot.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Parker & Marion Krouse; and by his brother & his wife, John & Beverly Krouse.  According to his wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation or service.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
