Joan (Dahl) Knorr, age 83, of Fremont, MI passed away May 3, 2023 peacefully at Fountain View Retirement Village with the faith of Eternal Life after a long battle.  Joan was born on Nov. 2, 1939 in San Angelo, TX to Henry & Emiline (Holz) Dahl.  She attended High School in Park Ridge, IL & Valparaiso University where she met her husband, Norman II on May 10, 1958.

On September 9, 1959 they married & resided in Valparaiso, IN & Kalamazoo, MI while Norm worked for Brunswick.  In 1963 they moved to Fremont, Mi, followed by Rochester, NY, Niagara Falls, Ontario & again in Fremont while Norm worked for Gerber Baby Foods.  Over their 62+ years of marriage, she gave us many gifts, but none greater than their 3 children. 

She is survived by her husband, Norm II, Norm III & Patty (Morse) of Columbus, IN, Jon & Michelle (Van Dyck) of Winter Haven, FL, son-in-law Bob Brower of Hudsonville, MI, brother & sister Henry (Gayle) Dahl & Jean (Bob) Nelson of Tucson, AZ, sister-in-law Janet Richardson, brother-in-law Don Becker along with 10 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws & special friends.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother Bob Dahl, her sister-in-law Linda Becker & her daughter, Sharon Brower. 

Joan loved animals & had dogs, cats, horses, cattle, hogs at our farms in NY, Ont & MI where she was active in various ag related organizations.  When the nest emptied & the farm sold, Joan & Norm moved to Fremont Lake to enjoy the Lake life style.  She worked for Fremont Schools in the Ag Program & school bus driver.  In the 70’s, she became involved in GOP organizations including being a County Commissioner, a State Committeewoman, a Governor’s Appointment & Alternate Delegate to the 1988 GOP National Convention.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the good folks at PACE, Regency, Fountain View & Gerber Hospital for the loving, compassionate care they all have provided to Norm & the family.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please direct all memorial contributions to Fountain View Retirement Village of Fremont Building Fund, or Inspire Church in Fremont.  

Celebration of Life - Inspire Church in Fremont on Saturday, June 10, 2023.  Visitation -10AM, Service - 11AM, with a luncheon to follow at the church.  Friends may send a condolence or share a memory with the Knorr family online at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
