John David Brookhouse, age 71 of Holton, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was born on March 11, 1951 in Muskegon, Michigan to Gerald & Helen (Jakubas) Brookhouse. John graduated from Coopersville High School in 1969. He followed his dad and worked 40 + years for GTE/Verizon, and he was a member of IBEW Local 1106. John started his own business in communications called Brookhouse Builders, and he was a licensed builder and enjoyed doing remodels. John was a regular attendee of Holton United Methodist Church, he was a good golfer, and for the past 15+ years he enjoyed traveling. Most recently he liked to antagonize people on Facebook, and ended up in “Facebook jail”. John is survived by his wife Amy, who he married the end of December in 2000; his children & grandchildren: Christy (Lou) Rivera and their children Louis & Justin, Jeremy Brookhouse & his children Ben & Molly, by Christy & Jeremy’s mother Connie, Alisa (Tim) Bayne & their children Evan & Shelby, Eric (Stacey) Sundberg & their children Jaelyn & Logan, Michael (Lance) Sundberg. John is also survived by his sister, Susan (Rich) Breuker; sister-in-law, Robin Brookhouse; brothers-in-law: Steve (Phyllis) Young, Clieve (Sandy) Young; and by several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother Joe Brookhouse. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Holton United Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Stoll officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 9:30-11:00 AM on Saturday. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. The funeral service will be available for live streaming at holtonumc.net. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Holton Public Schools for the Woodshop Program. You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.
