John Michael Routley

John Michael Routley, age 60 of Kentwood & Walkerville, passed away as the result of an accident on Sunday evening, November 3, 2024.  He was born on May 10, 1964 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to William & Deanna (Nugent) Routley.  John was a US Marine Veteran, and he loved his country and politics.  He had various retail jobs, and he had a strong faith.  John enjoyed playing the harmonica & singing, karaoke, walking and nature.  He was a writer and poet, and loved animals, especially dogs.  John also liked gardening, yard work, and landscaping.  He is survived by 2 children:  Andrew Brian Routley, Arlene Christine Keating Esquivel; 2 grandchildren, Jeremiah & Lucy; his mother, Deanna Routley; sisters & brothers:  Kathy (Richard Thomas) LaFave, Tim (Laura) Routley, Larry Routley, Charlie (Helen) Routley, Shellie (Tom) Garvey; many nieces & nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins.  John was preceded in death by his father, William Routley; sister-in-law, Pam Routley; and by his niece, Laurel (Pulsipher-Garvey) Alltop.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Walkerville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Bob Abbott officiating.  A luncheon & time to visit with the family will immediately follow the service at church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home to help with expenses.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
