Joseph “Joe” Dale Carter, age 78 of Hart, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at home after a long illness. He was born on January 29, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan to Emory “Bus” & Bertie Carter. Joe was a full time farmer and did a lot of repair work for people. He loved Oliver tractors and had many of them. He married Marilyn Kelly in 1963. Joe attended Ferry United Methodist Church in Ferry until its closing in April of 2020. He was a former member of the Antique Farm Power Club. Joe is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons: Charlie (Jennie) Carter of Grant, Andy (Betty) Carter of Hart; grandchildren: Colleen Carter of Grant, Joe (Kelly) Carter of Falmouth, Kenton (Wendy) Carter of Lake Ann, Andrew & Brooklyn Carter of Hart; great grandchildren: Allie, Olivia, Wesley, Emory, Austin, & Remi Carter; sister, Kay (Joe) Hayward; sister-in-law, Karen Kasankiewicz; brother-in-law, Tom (Connie) Kelly; and by several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregg Loren Carter; grandson, Dallas Dale Carter; great granddaughter, Hope Carter; parents; brother, Clayton Carter; and in-laws, Loren & Jeanette Kelly. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Hesperia United Methodist Church. Visitation will also be at the church from 11-12 Noon on Wednesday.
