Josephine Stella Konieczko, age 88 of Fremont, passed away on Thursday morning, July 18, 2024. She was born on June 17, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley & Frances (Pozarski) Cichy. Josephine was retired from Appleton Electric Company in Chicago, Illinois, and she was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont. She loved to play bingo, and was an avid bowler. On December 16, 1962 she married Walter J. Konieczko and he preceded her in death on August 7, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Konczal; sister, Bernice Nelson; and by her parents, Stanley Cichy & Frances Seidel. Josephine is survived by 5 children: Sherry Keleghan, Walter R. (Sherry) Konieczko, Richard (Michelle) Konieczko, Robert (Lynn) Konieczko, Joseph (Dawn) Konieczko; 10 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren; 1 bonus son, James Gibellin; her bingo partner, Sandy; and by several nieces & nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Fr. Pete Schafer as Celebrant. Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers , memorial contributions can be given to Wounded Warrior Project. You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.
