Joyce M. Singleton, age 86 of Muskegon, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, January 28, 2026 at her home. She was born on June 28, 1939 in Roscommon, Michigan to John & Violet (Johnson) Battin. Joyce had been co-owner of Singleton House Rentals, and she was a member of the Muskegon Area Landlord Association and the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce. She was also a former member of East Muskegon Church of God, and she loved to collect many things. Joyce married James “Big Jim” Singleton, Sr. in November of 1955, and he preceded her in death on September 15, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, James Singleton, Jr.; son-in-law, Kenneth LeMaire; many brothers & sisters; and by her beloved dog Dolly that passed away in 2025 and she greatly missed. Joyce is survived by 1 daughter, LuWanna LeMaire of Muskegon; grandchildren: David (Annette) Lord of Muskegon, Dana (Chris) Francis of Lowell, Keith (Bobbie) Huntoon, Bonnie Lord of Georgia & family; step-grandson, Harley LeMaire of Muskegon; great-grandchildren: Emily (Eli) Bowers, Jade (fiance Cole) Williams, Caitlin Williams, Lillianna (Alex) Harrison; sister, Cora (Paul) Fadden of Florida; many nieces & nephews including some special nieces & nephews, Cherry & Ron Walton of Fremont, Terry & Lisa Shaw of Largo, Florida. According to Joyce’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2026.
