Judith Diane (Fluegge) Clapp

Judith Diane (Fluegge) Clapp, age 78 of Fremont, Michigan, peacefully passed away at dawn October 6, 2023 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont.  She was born on December 3, 1944 in Dearborn, Michigan to Edward and Betty (Gaskell) Fluegge.  In her early years she was active in band, drama, NHS, and athletics graduating as salutatorian of her high school class of 1962. With a love for animals and children she was able to actualize both blessings in her lifetime.  Judy (and Jon) owned Royalwood Kennels training and showing German Shepherds and Cardigan Welsh Corgis for nearly 50 years.  Judy had been a school teacher at both Daisy Brook and Pine Street schools in Fremont for 27 years until her retirement in 1996.  On January 3, 1964 she married Jon R. Clapp and he survives her along with 2 children:  Bruce Dean (Elisabeth) Clapp of Willis, Michigan and Bonny Dawn (Robert) Baar of Jenison, Michigan; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; 4 sisters:  Jane (John) Elsinga of Grand Ledge, Michigan, Janis (Anthony) Lloyd of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joyce (Michael) Nienhuis of Clarkston, Michigan, and Betty Beth (Robert) Johns of Grand Rapids, Michigan; brother-in-law Mike (Kathy) Clapp of Surprise, Arizona; and by many nieces and nephews.  According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Fremont United Methodist Church with Pastor Ben Lester officiating and Pastor Wayne Brunt as well through a video message.  Interment will be in Clark Cemetery.  There will be a time of visiting with the family from 5-8PM on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home and at the church from 10-11AM on Saturday.  Suggested Memorial:  St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
