Ken Comis, age 70 of Fremont, passed away on Friday evening, January 10, 2025. He was born on June 15, 1954 in Fremont, Michigan to Charles & Virginia (Kempf) Comis. Ken was a lifelong dairy farmer who worked hard to provide for his family. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren so much that he and his wife, Nancy, put together a small cabin with an outhouse for camping and cookouts. This was one of his favorite ways to spend time with his family. Ken was a true friend, and a man of his word. He took pride in his collection of tractors and farm machinery, with John Deere being his favorite. On December 15, 1984 he married Nancy Derks and she survives him along with 5 children: Martha (Jason) Sherman, Sarah (Mike) Brown, Charlie (Nicole) Comis, Rachel Comis, Neil Comis; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nancy Comis; brother-in-law, Ken Stroven; and by many nieces & nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Virginia Comis; brother, Larry Comis; by his sister and her husband Nancy & Jim Hines, and by his sister Jean “Jeannie” Stroven. A celebration of Ken’s life with light snacks will take place at the Sherman Township Hall from 2-4 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Newaygo County Compassion Home. You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.
