Kimberly Marie Ellis, age 65 of Twin Lake, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 23, 2026 at Corewell Health Gerber Hospital in Fremont. She was born on December 6, 1960 in Grand Haven, Michigan to Harold Curtis Jr. & Lois Marie (Williams) Chaney
Kimberly was a devoted teacher at Oak Crest Christian Academy in Muskegon, where she faithfully served and impacted the lives of many students. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Oak Crest Church of God in Muskegon. Kimberly found joy in God’s creation and cherished cardinals and lighthouses. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and making memories with those she loved. Her faith, kindness, and caring spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
On June 23, 1979, she married the love of her life, Steven Wayne Ellis. On June 23, 2026, the couple celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary, the same day Kimberly peacefully passed away. Steven survives her, along with their three children, Adam Wayne (Audrey) Ellis, Matthew Wayne (Diana) Ellis, and Nicholas Wayne (Angela) Ellis; and nine grandchildren, Seth (Adara), Aaron, Tyler, Elijah, Lucas, Victoria, Noah, Kaelynn, and Alexis.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lois Chaney, and her two older brothers, Harold Chaney III and Kenneth Chaney.
There will be a time of visiting with the family from 10-11 AM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Oak Crest Church of God in Muskegon, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Richard South officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at church, and interment will be at Twin Lake Cemetery. Suggested Memorial: Multiple Sclerosis Society.
