Lavonne Carol (VanderZouwen) Elenbaas

Mrs. Lavonne Carol Elenbaas, age 87 of Hesperia, was welcomed into the arms or her Lord & Savior on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.  Lavonne was born on March 27, 1932 in Jamestown, Michigan and was raised by her loving parents, George & Margaret (Knoll) VanderZouwen.  Lavonne attended Aetna Calvary Church.  She enjoyed quilting, gardening, camping, playing games, as well as playing the piano & organ.  On May 2, 1950 she married Isaac "Ike" Elenbaas Jr. and he preceded her in death on September 3, 2011.  She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Carol Ann Elenbaas; by her brother, Harold VanderZouwen; and by her sisters:  Betty Galer, Doris VanderPloeg, & Shirley Stratton.  She is survived by 5 children:  Larry (Lora) Elenbaas, Randal (Jayne) Elenbaas, Laurie (Gary) Norris, Kathy (Jim) Fedel, Stephen (Elizabeth) Elenbaas, all of Hesperia; 20 grandchildren & 30 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Nancy Freeman & Audrey Nienhuis; 1 brother, Don (Sheryl) VanderZouwen; 1 sister-in-law, Catherine VanderZouwen; 1 brother-in-law, Ellis "John" VanderPloeg; and many nieces & nephews.  According to her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Aetna Calvary Church with Pastor Phil Jones officiating.  A luncheon & time to visit with the family will immediately follow the service at church.  Interment will be in East Hesperia Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  His House Christian Fellowship.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
