Lester L. Hooker

Lester L. Hooker, age 84 of Fremont, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, October 14, 2023.  He was born on May 28, 1939 in Fremont, Michigan to Myreenus & Helene (Bartels) Hooker.  Les had worked at Consumer’s Energy for 26 years until his retirement in 1999, and he had also been employed by the Reeman Mill.  He was a lifelong member of Reeman Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder and deacon, and sang in the church choir.  Les enjoyed going to sporting events as well as playing sports, which included church softball and running.  He also liked outdoor activities, which included camping, hunting, & fishing.  On January 22, 1960 he married Sylvia J. Witte and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2022.  Les was also preceded in death by his sister Virginia Sneller, and by his brothers Marvin & Harley Hooker.  He is survived by 4 children:  Alan (Cindy) Hooker, Sue (Jeff) Feddema, Greg (Jennifer) Hooker, Brad (Melissa) Hoekert; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; brothers & sisters:  Lou (Verla) Hooker, Corrine (Duane) Burt, Dale (Eleanor) Hooker, Barb (Stan) Witte, Lloyd (Sally) Hooker; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law:  Gerry Hooker, Arlene Hooker, Phil (Lorene) Witte, Dave (Pat) Witte; and by many nieces & nephews.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Reeman Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Les VanDyke officiating.  Interment will be in Reeman Cemetery.  Visitation will also be at the church from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, October 24th.  Suggested Memorial:  Reeman Christian Reformed Church.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
