Linda Lawler Obituary

Mrs. Linda Dean (Barron) Lawler, age 79, of Fremont, MI—formerly from Lubbock, TX—went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, June 25, 2022. She was born on August 20, 1942, to Homer and Benetha (Hardy) Barron in Lamesa, TX. Linda loved her roots and took pride in being a cotton farmer's daughter.

Linda joins her husband, Mike Lawler, her parents, and her sister Ann Warren of Sherman, TX, in Heaven. Linda is survived by many loving family members, including her son Mike Henson and wife Donna of Ropesville, TX; daughter Delinda Noordyk and husband Don of Fremont, MI; sister Sherry Schneider and husband Art of Boerne, TX; brother-in-law Dub Warren of Fort Worth, TX; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Linda was a truly devoted, fun-loving grandmother who was always up for a game of Canasta.  Despite having so many, she made sure to spend individual time with every grandchild—including taking each one on a 5-year-old trip and a graduation trip.

Linda had an unmatched zest for life and loved God and others extravagantly. This love also extended outside of her family. She was fiercely devoted to caring for and ministering to those burned out and run down. She invited countless women and troubled teens into her home to disciple and mentor.

During her earlier years, Linda owned and operated a child care center in Lubbock, TX. After marrying her husband Mike on October 25, 1997, in Lubbock, TX, they moved to Fremont, MI, in September 2000 where she continued to care for others as she worked for the Senior Companion Assistance Program.

Linda also employed many other creative gifts. She was a photographer, writer, journalist, drama instructor, master of ceremonies, events coordinator, and teacher. Though Linda enjoyed many trades and hobbies, she shone brightest when playing the piano and singing worship songs to her Savior. She'd often sing lyrics from one of her favorite hymns, In the Garden , "He walks with me, and he talks with me, and He tells me I am His own," giving others a peek into the sweet fellowship she shared with Jesus.

Above all, Linda was a life-long worshiper and woman of God. She was constantly looking for ways to walk out the call to love God and love others during her time on earth. At the same time, Linda looked eagerly to the day when she could meet her Savior face-to-face and offer up her life to Him with the peace and joy of knowing she "brought Him glory here on this earth by completing the work He called [her] to do" (John 17:4—Linda's life verse). Though they grieve her absence, Linda's family rejoices in knowing she's in the presence of her Savior.
