Lois A. (Nelson) Collaer

Mrs. Lois A. Collaer, age 94, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Green Acres Assisted Living in Fremont. She was born on December 24, 1927 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Emil and Sadie (Hallam) Nelson.  Lois married Glenn Collaer on November 22, 1951 in Green Bay, and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2021.  She was a long-time member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Oregon, IL., where she was a choir member and involved in other church activities.  Lois enjoyed her children, grandchildren, homemaking, sewing and working at the Sears catalog store in Oregon, IL.  During their retirement, the Collaers traveled by RV throughout the U.S. and into Mexico. She was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. GO PACK!

Survivors include three children: Kristina (Richard) Ruffini of Michigan, Marcia Collaer of Vermont, Jeff (Rebecca) Collaer of Michigan; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Mary Beth Villarreal-Collaer, along with her brothers Warren and Dewey Nelson predeceased her. 

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home in Fremont with Pastor Dan Cook officiating.  Visitation will also be at the funeral home from 10-11 AM on Tuesday.  Entombment will be at the Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum in Green Bay.  Memorials can be made to the American Bible Society.
