Lorna Rose Hoppa, age 79 of Fremont, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 5, 2022 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont. She was born on July 21, 1942 in Muskegon, Michigan to Forest & Glendora (Boeskool) VandenBerg. Lorna enjoyed reading, she spent time knitting with a group of ladies at the New Ewe in Newaygo, and she was a member of the Rose Quilters. On October 8, 1960 she married Lee J. Hoppa and he survives her along with 3 children: Tammy Hughes, Gary (Beth) Hoppa, Wes Hoppa; 7 grandchildren: Tylyn (Pete) Anderson, David Hughes, Bailey Hoppa, Makenna Hoppa, Ashlyn Hoppa, Taryn Hoppa, & Graison Hoppa; 2 great-grandchildren, Easton & Camden Anderson; and 1 brother, Jim VandenBerg. Lorna was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to give a special thank you to Spectrum Health Cancer Center, Spectrum Health Hospice, and the Newaygo County Compassion Home. According to Lorna’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a time to celebrate her life from 2-4 PM on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home in Fremont.
