Marguerite (Furda) Stroven

Marguerite Stroven 95 passed away peacefully at her home on August 23, 2018 and went to be with Jesus. Marguerite was born on Jan 3, 1923 in Whiting, Indiana to George and Susanna Furda, being the youngest of four siblings. The family, along with her grandmother, moved to the Fremont area when she was a young girl and settled on a small farm on North Stone Road. While growing up she learned to become an accomplished roller skater. She was also a faithful fan of the Detroit Tigers.  

On May 20, 1944 Marguerite and Keith Paul Stroven were united in marriage. This was the beginning of a 74 year long journey together which included multiple farming operations and a John Deere business in which Marguerite ran the parts department.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers George and Sam Furda, sister Ava Geczy and her first born baby son.

Marguerite leaves behind her loving husband and caretaker Keith, daughter and caretaker Patricia (Richard) Marconi, son Harry and (Donna) Stroven and grand children Jamie Marconi and Christopher (Alicia) Marconi, also her great grandchildren Madison, Marissa, Marcello and Marcus Marconi.

A private grave side service was held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Memorial contributions can be made to Spectrum Health Hospice and Palliative Care, 750 Fuller Ave, Grand Rapids Ml 49503.
