Marian Henderson Obituary

Marian D. (Smith) Henderson passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2019, after a long, hard-fought battle with Dementia.  Marian was born October 30, 1935 to William Roy and Josephine Rene (Graham) Smith in Grant, MI.  She attended Lambson Country School and graduated from Grant High School.  Marian worked at Gerber Products where she met her husband, Don Henderson.  They were married on July 12, 1958 in Fremont.  They established a home on Fremont Lake where they both remained until their passing.  Marian worked at the Gerber Products Office until 1962 when her daughter was born.  Marian became a stay-at-home mother until 1974, when she returned to Gerber Products.  Marian and Don enjoyed traveling throughout the United States including Alaska, Hawaii, and the West Indies.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michael and Terri Balder and a very loved grand-daughter, Melia Balder all of Fremont.  Also surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Judy Smith of Grant. A special mention must be made of Mister Tibbs, whom stood by Marian through her long battle.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Don.

Private services were held with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made to Wellspring Adult Day Services of Fremont.
