Marian “Joy” Dykman, age 81 of Fremont, went to be with her Lord and Savior late Wednesday evening, April 1, 2026. She was born on April 28, 1944 in Fremont, Michigan to Harold August & Geraldine Bernice (Rice) Johnson. Joy had been employed by Gerber Life for 15 years until her retirement, and she was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont. She loved gardening, being outside, and traveling. Joy had also volunteered in the Gift Shop at Gerber Hospital, and at the Community Closet. She is survived by 3 children: Kurt Dykman of Muskegon, Shelley (Brock) Wolford of Fremont, Melanie (Glenn) Gustman of Fremont; 9 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Dan (Beth) Johnson, Steve (Beth) Johnson, Mike (Caryn) Johnson; and by several nieces & nephews. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Geraldine Johnson, and by her daughter-in-law Pam Dykman. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Fremont with Dr. Steve Witter officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at church and then interment will follow the luncheon at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will also be at church from 11-12 Noon on Tuesday.
