Mark Alan Slater

Mark Alan Slater, age 59 of Holton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial in Fremont.  He was born on January 12, 1963 in Fremont, Michigan to Louis Peter & Margaret Mary (Filipiak) Slater, Sr.  Mark was currently employed as the maintenance supervisor at the Carriage House/Hickory Village Apartment Complex in Muskegon, where he began working when he was in high school.  He was also currently serving on the Blue Lake Township Board.  Mark enjoyed pontoon boating, motorcycling, cutting wood, and doing home improvements.  He is survived by his son, Mark E. (Eryn) Slater; his soul mate, Letoya Robinson; his mother, Margaret Slater; brothers & sisters:  Louis P. (Joni) Slater, Jr., Leon (Nancy) Slater, Renee (Dan) Rosema, William (Margot) Slater, & Laura Slater; many nieces, nephews, & friends; and by his special dogs, Obie & Rocky.  Mark was preceded in death by his father.  Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at St Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick with his cousin, Fr. Darrel C. Kempf as Celebrant.  There will be a time of visiting with the family at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 6-8 PM and at the church on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 10-11 AM.  Interment will be at St Michael Catholic Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial: Pioneer Trails Camp on Big Blue Lake.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
