Mark William Tanis

Mark William Tanis, age 47 of Kentwood & formerly of Fremont, passed away on Monday afternoon, August 10, 2020 at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming, Michigan.  He was born on May 17, 1973 in Fremont, Michigan.  Mark worked at Royal Technologies for the past 19 years.  He loved his family, food, and football.  Mark lived for hunting, and the highlight of his year was opening day of deer season.  He also enjoyed playing Saturday night poker.  Mark is survived by his wife, Wendy (Edwards) Tanis; children:  Kaleab, Isaac, & Aaliyah Tanis; mother, Charlene (Lester) Robertson; father, Donald (Debra) Tanis; brother & sister:  Ryan Tanis, Michelle (Jeremy Dunbar) Tanis; grandmother, Hester Borgman; step-brother & sisters:  Shannon (Ashley) Robertson, Lisa (Matt) Kempf, Amy (Dion) Stumpo, Sara Naghtin; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Michael & Marge Edwards; sister-in-law, Tammy Edwards; nieces & nephews:  Olivia, Madison, & Keegan, Bryce, Rayann, & Camron, Bella, Cada, Logan, & Aubrie, Jocelyn, & Felicia (Maverick), Dion, Hannah, & Jubilee, & Emily.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Tanis; and by his grandparents:  Henry J. Borgman, Jake & Vivian Tanis.  Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 5-8 PM on Friday, August 14, 2020.  Due to restrictions related to COVID-19, visiting with the family will be held both inside and outside, with a limited number of people being allowed inside at a time.  Masks are required for indoor visiting, and are optional for the outdoor visiting.  A Private Family Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Sherman Township Cemetery with Pastor Joel Zuidema officiating.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
