Marlene Ann Boes, age 89 of Fremont, was called Home early Wednesday morning, January 17, 2024. She was born on February 27, 1934 in Fremont, Michigan to John & Winifred (Lancaster) Zagers. Marlene was a member of Reeman Christian Reformed Church, where she had been a volunteer for Wellspring. She had been a receptionist for Dr Sayles in Fremont, a secretary for Newaygo County Farm Bureau, and she had worked for Roossinck Fruit Storage. Marlene enjoyed knitting, hunting, fishing, and spending summers in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. On October 29, 1954 she married Harley J. Boes, and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rodney Zagers. Marlene is survived by 2 daughters: Sherry (Jack) Lubbers of Fremont, Carol (Brad) Bazzett of Fremont; 6 grandchildren: Prudi (Jeff) Foster, Cori (Jason) VanderStelt, Brook (Wayne) Cunningham, Lynae (Brandon) Klever, Jenna (Mike) Echtinaw, Amanda (Curtis) Dunham; 14 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great grandson. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Reeman Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Les VanDyke & Pastor Nate Kooistra officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Tuesday. Interment will be in Reeman Cemetery. Suggested Memorial: The Wellspring Endowment Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation.
