Marlene M. (Deuling) Gilliland

Marlene M. Gilliland, age 81 of Fremont, passed away on Friday evening, November 24, 2023 at her home.  She was born on July 22, 1942 in Fremont, Michigan to Frederick & Lucille (Kaiser) Deuling.  Marlene was a former owner of MPH Trucking Company in Fremont, and she was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont.  Marlene is survived by 3 children:  Todd (Brenda) Gilliland, Michael (Trina) Gilliland, & Jon (Karla) Gilliland; 6 grandchildren:  Cassie Gilliland, Nicole (fiancé Jeff LaChance) Gilliland, Drew Gilliland, Nate Gilliland, Aaron (Alex) Gilliland, McKell (Carl) Grooters; 4 great-grandchildren:  Kennedy Gilliland, Greyson Grooters, Rogue Grooters, Noah Gilliland; sisters:  Shirley Bennett, Marjorie (Donald) Redder, Frances (Gary) Derks, Kay (Bill) Boike; sister-in-law, Ruth Deuling; and by many nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Allen Deuling & Donald Deuling; sister, Barbara Salisbury; and by her good friend Rodger Burgess.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Fr. Pete Schafer as Celebrant.  There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Suggested Memorials:  Newaygo County Compassion Home, or All Saints Catholic Church Improvement Fund.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
