Marvin Jay DeYoung, age 89 of Fremont, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was born on August 11, 1932 in Fremont, Michigan to Bert & Laura (Derks) DeYoung. Marv was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, and he had been a farmer. He was a former member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, and a former member of the Board of Review in Dayton Township. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gerrie DeYoung, who he married on June 24, 1960; 1 son, Ron (Peggy) DeYoung; 2 grandchildren: Randy (Shannon) DeYoung, Lisa DeYoung; his good friend, Chans MacClean; and by his many Amish friends. Marv’s special friends have all preceded him in death. According to his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Interment will be in Evens Cemetery near Fremont.
