Mary Ann Reed Obituary

Mrs. Mary Ann Reed, age 84 of Hesperia, passed away Friday morning, March 12, 2021 at her home.  She was born on February 1, 1937 in Muskegon, Michigan to Graydon & Genevieve (Server) Wheeler.  Mary Ann had been a bartender at Woody’s Bar in Woodland Park, Highway Bar in Muskegon, 46 Bar in Muskegon, and the Hesperia American Legion Post.  She had also been employed at Jack’s Party Store in Hesperia.  Mary Ann was a member of the Hesperia American Legion Post Auxiliary where she had been the President and worked on all of the luncheons.  She enjoyed G & L chili dogs, and Herbie’s biscuits & sausage gravy.  Mary Ann liked to play cards which included euchre & poker, and she loved the Pere Marquette River, fishing, & camping.  Her favorite song was Lady in Red, and her favorite beer was Bud Light in a bottle.  On March 22, 1986 she married Norvel A. Reed and he survives her along with 7 children:  Terry & Beth Parsons, Sheryl Wilbur, Patricia Saxton, Pamela & Jack Allen, Lori & Terry Kramer, Rhonda & Jim Saunders, Ross & Dolly Reed; many grandchildren & great grandchildren; 2 brothers:  Larry & Darlene Wheeler, David & Sue Wheeler; and 1 sister, Cindy & Larry West.  Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son, James Arthur Parsons; son-in-law, John Wilbur; parents, Graydon & Genevieve Wheeler; and by many brothers & sisters.  According to Mary Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life and luncheon will be held from 2-4 PM on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Hesperia American Legion Post.  Masks are recommended.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
