Mary Jo (Henson) Vasquez

Mary Jo Vasquez, age 74 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, December 3, 2022.  She was born on June 19, 1948 in Murphy, North Carolina to Edgar & Edith Naomi (Morgan) Henson.  Mary Jo was retired from the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont, where she had been a CNA.  She loved to do puzzles, and loved to visit with her family.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her.  On September 20, 1969 she married Joe Vasquez and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2012.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, and by several brothers & a sister.  Mary Jo is survived by 2 children, 6 grandchildren, & 3 great-grandchildren:  Robert (Angela) Vasquez of Fremont & their children Cade Vasquez, Bryar (Brendan) McAree; Lina (Bill) Strong & their children & grandchildren Mitchell (Kristie) Strong & their children Lily, Zach, & Aggie Strong; Cameron, Logan, & Brandon Strong.  She is also survived by her sister, Marcella Lewis of Shelby; and by her very special dog, Toby.  Visitation will be at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.  There will be no funeral service, and interment will be in Sherman Township Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  Bellwether Harbor in Fremont.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
