Mickey R. Noble, a long time resident of Holton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday evening, September 2, 2024. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 62 years, Marlene, daughter Michelle (Martin) Lalick of Grand Rapids, daughter Mendy Boocher of Niles, and son Kyle (Rachel) Noble of Boyne City, seven grandchildren and one sister, Bonnie Jean (John) Monette of Twin Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Arlene Noble and in-laws Howard and Hazel Richards. Mick graduated from Holton High School in 1961. He attended Western Michigan University where he received his B.S and two Masters of Arts degrees. He taught at Bloomingdale High School and Lakewood High School before returning to Bloomingdale as High School Principal and then to Holton, where he served as High School Principal for twenty one years and Superintendent of schools for three years. In addition to his teaching and administrative duties he coached varsity basketball teams for twenty two years as well as some varsity football and baseball teams at Bloomingdale and Lakewood High Schools.
Upon retiring from Holton Schools he served for sixteen years as the Holton Township Supervisor and operated the Noble Bus Tours where he and Marlene met many new friends and saw many beautiful sights in our great country and Canada.
Mick was active as a member of the Holton United Methodist Church where he served on many committees and participated in the music department at one time as church organist and a member of the choir.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had a very good sense of humor. He loved coaching kids, especially basketball, playing the organ, playing cards and was active as a bowler and golfer. He loved outdoor activities and flowers.
A celebration of Mick's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Holton United Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Stoll officiating. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 6:30-8:30 PM on Sunday, September 8th, and from 10-11 AM on Monday, September 9th. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. Suggested Memorial: Autism Society of Kent County. You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.
