Millie (Millicent) Sherman Obituary

Millie (Millicent) Louise Sherman, age 87 of Newaygo and formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday morning, November 18, 2023.  She was born on February 1, 1936 in Muskegon, Michigan.  Millie had a love for ceramics & teaching ceramics, and she had been a Cub Scout Den Mother.  She did a lot of volunteering for Love, Inc. of Newaygo County, and for TrueNorth Community Services.  She was a member of First Congregational Church of Fremont, where she enjoyed contributing her gift of ceramics to charity events.  Millie had a love she shared with her grandchildren, “Shop til you drop”.  She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bill (Wilson) Sherman, who she married on November 26, 1955.  She is also survived by 3 sons, 8 grandchildren, & 12 great-grandchildren:  Bill (Brenda Lausman) Sherman, his children Adam Sherman, Josh (Kelsey) Sherman, Zach (Jessica) Sherman, & their children Isabelle, Zoey, Elias, & Brooks Sherman; Steven (Jeanne) Sherman, their children Jessica (Andrew) Ulrich, Jeffrey (Chassity) Sherman, Jaclyn (Chris) Peck, & their children Jett, Charlotte, & Eleanor Sherman, Anderson & Josselyn Ulrich, & James Peck; Scott (Danette) Sherman, their children Tessa (Nate) Meendering, Tylin (Taylin) Sherman, & their children Bailey Sherman & Emma Louise Meendering.  Millie was preceded in death by her mother Violet & Hank.  According to her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Millie’s life will be held after the holiday season.  Interment will be in Grandville Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  First Congregational Church of Fremont.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
