Morley Brummel, age 91 of Fremont, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, January 19, 2025. He was born on April 10, 1933 in Grant, Michigan to Leonard and Jennie (Austhof) Brummel. He attended Grant High School. Morley was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont. He enjoyed singing in the church choir and leading praise time. He had been employed by Gerber Memorial Hospital for 40 years, where he retired in 1995 as the Vice President of Finance. After his retirement, Morley became involved with Habitat for Humanity and World Renew Disaster Relief Services. Morley enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling. On October 26, 1956 he married Emily Lou Mouthaan, and she preceded him in death on August 12, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Esther Abrams, Bernice Pell, and Lavon Visscher; and by his brother, Lloyd Brummel. Morley is survived by 3 children: Amy (Greg) Winchel of Allendale, Tim (Patricia) Brummel of Hudsonville, Gayle (Tom) Wolffis of Byron Center; 6 grandchildren: Ashley (Jon) DeKock, Nicholas Winchel, Meagan Brummel, Katelyn (Ryan) Cashwell, Abigail Brummel, Jacob Wolffis; 4 great-grandchildren: Elliana, Liam, Adeline DeKock, and Levi Cashwell. He is also survived by his brothers: Robert (Joyce) Brummel, Stanley (Marcia) Brummel, Clyde (Norma Talbott) Brummel; and by many nieces & nephews. A celebration of Morley’s life will take place at 12:00 on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Brian Bosscher officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 11:00 to 12:00 on Saturday.
