Nancy Frances Hanks, 87, of Gardner, Kansas passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at her home. Nancy was born on May 17, 1933 in Hillsdale, Indiana to Reed Calvin and Helen Ruth (Shaffer) Massey. She graduated from high school in Argenta, Illinois. She worked as an inspector/ trainer for Alcoa in Whitehall, Michigan for 28 years, retiring in 1995. Nancy moved to Gardner, Kansas in 2015 to be near family. She was a member of the Gardner Church of the Nazarene. Nancy loved living on the farm and she always had a camera in her hand ready to snap a picture. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; son Martin Reed Varvil; companion Charles Comis; brother Richard Dale Hanks and former husband Elmer C. Varvil. She is survived by her sons Darrel Lynn Varvil and Paul Gene Varvil both of Gardner, Kansas; sister Shirley D. Pawson, Sullivan, Illinois; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
