Nathan "Nate" LaVerne Jordan

Nathan LaVerne Jordan, age 84, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at his family home in Fremont, Michigan.

Nate spent most of his life on the family farm, a place he cherished deeply. He loved his land, his tractors, and his collection of old cars and trucks. His work ethic and skill were well known in the community—he was a licensed Master Plumber and spent many years working for Hunt Construction and Farwig Construction.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Nelson‑Jordan; his children Michelle Jordan (Kevin Carr) and Sara Simpson (Randy); his stepchildren Scott Nelson (Linda), Kevin Nelson (Cathie Ray), Debra Cain (Richard), and Sheri Fiet (Richard); his sister Mary Converse; and his brother Richard (Rose) Jordan. Nate leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 11 great‑grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Denise, his son Jeremy Jordan, his parents Siebe and Martha Jordan, his siblings Lambert, Laura, Helen, Marvin, Martha, Edna, Wilbur, and Martin, and his great‑grandsons Jack and Damien.

Services

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Fremont Church of the Nazarene 4571 Baldwin Ave, Fremont, MI 49412 with the Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 Noon.  Lunch will follow.

A graveside service will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Reeman Cemetery 6761 S Brucker Ave, Fremont, MI 49412

Nate will be remembered for his devotion to family, his love of the farm, and the steady, hardworking spirit he carried throughout his life.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be given to Fremont Church of the Nazarene, or Corewell Health Hospice.
