Ora-Lynn "Lynn" Ann (Riker) Bitson

Ora-Lynn Ann (Lynn) Bitson, age 89 of Fremont, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16.

Her family celebrates all the goodness she added to this world: she was loving, talented, musical, forgiving and kind. She taught us good values and many life lessons. Lynn loved her family and truly enjoyed having them around. She taught herself how to play guitar, organ, and was adept at the computer and cell phone. She was an active member of Fremont United Methodist Church and over the years she directed the children’s choir, the Gospel Choir, and the Praise Band. Lynn also loved working in the church office whenever a substitute was needed. For many years she owned and operated Lynn’s Musicland in downtown Fremont.

At home she loved to decorate for the seasons, move things around (a lot!), cook, bake, sew, clean and iron!

We are so grateful for our mom’s life, and her legacy will live on in her children, grandkids, and her many friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, George; her two brothers, her sister, her parents and her numerous, beloved Pekingese.

She is survived by her children, Greg Bitson, Brian and Cathy Bitson, Marsha and Chuck Woolley, and Lori and Bill Hawkins. Grandchildren include Geoff, Aubrey, Alyssa, Molly, Cody, Will,Mitch, Tim, Christina, Tyler, and Ryan. She also had 10 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held on Sunday, September 21, at 3:00 PM at Fremont UMC, followed by a time of fellowship. Visitation will be the hour preceding the service.  Anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory might consider Corewell Health Hospice or the church.
