Phyllis E. (Johnson) Norris

Mrs. Phyllis E. Norris, age 92 of Fremont, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Thursday afternoon, September 3, 2020.  She was born on July 24, 1928 in Hesperia, Michigan to W. Dewey & Lucinda F. Johnson.  On October 15, 1949 she married Duane “Red” Norris and together they owned & operated Norris Electric in Fremont for over 60 years, until Duane preceded her in death on May 27, 2011.  Phyllis was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont, where she was known to many as “Grandma Norris” from teaching the 2-3 year old children in Sunday School.  She is survived by 3 children.  Roger (Cathy) Norris of Fremont, Gayle (Scott) Henry of Grant, Linda (Jim) Goorhouse of Fremont; 5 grandchildren:  Zachary (Jamie) Norris, Britt Henry, Lindsay (Jason) VandenToorn, Erin (Trent) Mast, Kiley (Jordan) Eisner; 4 great grandchildren:  Allie & Troy Norris, Jade & Ryker VandenToorn.  She is also survived by her brother, Blaine Johnson; by her brother-in-law, Ivan Norris; and by many nieces & nephews.  Phyllis was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Johnson; and by her sisters-in-law & brother-in-law:  Adela Johnson, Mary Ellen Norris, Barbara & Art Elmquest.  Due to construction at First Baptist Church in Fremont, the visitation, funeral, and luncheon will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Fremont (7729 W. 48th Street).  Masks are optional.  Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, and from 10-11 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.  Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 with Dr. Steve Witter and Pastor Steve Summerfield officiating.   A luncheon will immediately follow the service at church, and interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Suggested Memorials:  RBC Ministries for the Daily Bread Devotional, or Child Evangelism Fellowship.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
