Raymond Matthew Dastick

Raymond Matthew Dastick, age 77 of Fremont, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 25th, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on February 24th, 1948 in Brunswick, Michigan, to John Aloyousis and Violet Helen (Paczkowski) Dastick. Ray worked as an equipment mechanic at Viking Foods/Roundy’s in Muskegon, at Kent Power in Kent City, and with the Newaygo County Conservation District before his retirement. He was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Ray enjoyed bowling, putzing around, and attending his grandchildren's activities. When he wasn’t doing one of those, you could find him fishing, hunting, or spending time outdoors at the cabin in the U.P. On July 11th, 1969 he married Dora Pauline Ackerman, the love of his life. She survives him along with their three children; Roger (Karen) Dastick of Midland, Barbara (Jason) Robinet of Greenville, and Karen Dastick of Belding. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Megan, Ethan, and Brendan Dastick, and Zoe and Ezekiel Robinet. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Father Pete Schafer as Celebrant. Interment will be at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the church. Please consider a memorial contribution to Michigan United Conservation Clubs.
