Richard "Dick" James Passage

Richard “Dick” James Passage, age 81 of Converse, Texas & formerly of Fremont, Michigan went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, October 2, 2024.  He was born on April 15, 1943 in Muskegon, Michigan to Bernard & Anita (Hanten) Passage.  Dick had been an assessor for many years, and retired as the assessor for the City of Fremont.  He had been a member of the Fremont Lions Club, and the Newaygo County Exchange Club.  Dick was an avid square dancer and caller, and he had a special interest in helping kids that were in need.  He had also been an active member of Inspire Church in Fremont (formerly known as Fremont Wesleyan).  On October 23, 1965 he married Lois Effie Timmers and she preceded him in death on November 14, 2021.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.  Dick is survived by 2 children:  James (Pamela) Passage of Port Orchard, Washington, Christine (Rodney) Milner of Collierville, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren:  Elizabeth & Jennifer Passage, Sydney & Sarah Milner; several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; numerous nieces & nephews; and by several cousins.  The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Inspire Church in Fremont.  Visitation will also be at the church from 12-1 PM on Friday.  Interment will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids.  Suggested Memorials:  The Newaygo County Compassion Home, or Samaritan’s Purse.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
