Robert Louis Smith, age 58 of Fremont, passed away in the comfort his home on Thursday evening, July 23, 2026. He was born on February 15, 1968 in Fremont, Michigan to Lawrence “Larry” Howard & Jean Ann (Mitchell) Smith.
Robert was a loving Christian man, and he also had a passion for the building trades. He loved all hunting, fishing, recreational vehicles and woodworking. He also enjoyed the outdoors with gardening, making maple syrup, and raising animals.
On August 7, 1992 he married Michelle Talbott and she survives him along with 3 daughters: Elizabeth (Sergio Torres) Smith, Megan (Rodney) Kosheba, and Melissa Ann; 6 grandchildren: Joshua Smith, Onalee Grandon, Kaylie Smith, Emily Smith, Alexander Kosheba, & Erin Kosheba; 2 great-grandchildren, Tristian & Oakley; 3 sisters: Deborah Gleason, Cheryl (Dan) Boutell, & Rebecca Smith; brother-in-law, Mitch (Lisa) Talbott; and by many nieces & nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation or service, but a private interment will be in West Hesperia Cemetery. A party to celebrate his life will be announced.
