Roger LeRoy Ferris

Roger LeRoy Ferris of Muskegon, MI passed away Thursday the 27th after a brief illness.  Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Newell And Irene (Rasmussen, Ash) 4 Brothers, and 2 sisters, and granddaughter,  Emileigh.  Roger spent many years as a carpet installer, working for several different companies, and had the privilege of installing carpet in many, many homes and businesses.  Anyone that knows Roger can remember how “frugal” he was when it came to his work vans, and he prided himself on never paying more than $300, even if it had to be held it together with duct tape and hangers.  Roger had a love of motorcycles and made many friends while participating in local Blessing of the Bikes, Spring Runs, and Poker Runs.  He often bought a bike, fixed it up, rode it for a season then sold it, all to repeat the process the next year.  Roger was a member of the Muskegon Eagles #668, where he bowled on a men’s league on Tuesdays and a mixed doubles league on Saturdays for a number of years.  He was also on several pool and dart leagues over the years.  He loved spending time with his boys and friends down in his man cave bar, shooting darts, and watching football and nascar.  Roger had a knack with finding bargains on cars, motorcycles and trinkets.   He was never one to pass up a good deal!   

Roger is survived by his children: Kathy (Nate) Field of Apple Valley, MN, Roger Jr. (Julie) Ferris of Knoxville, TN, Tony (Megan) Ferris of Muskegon, Rodney (Loretta) Ferris of New Llano, LA, Tim Ferris of Muskegon, Kirsten (Clint) Modrzejewski of Nunica, and Bethany (Chris) Cumings of Spring Lake, 27 grandchildren,  9 great grandchildren and the mother of his children, Crystal (Ferris) Wynia.  He is also survived by his brother Tom Ferris of Muskegon, his very special friend Ilene Maxim of Muskegon, and his little buddy, his dog Tater.
