Russell Edward Shappee

Russell Edward Shappee, age 88 of Grant, passed away on Saturday evening, December 10, 2022 at his home.  He was born on May 11, 1934 in Ludington, Michigan to Russell Edward & Helen Sophie (Prusinoski) Shappee.  Russell was everybody’s go to person in Bridgeton, from building projects to automotive work.  His garage and the river were the hangout spots for many local people.  Russell also enjoyed woodworking.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Brown) Shappee, on June 22, 2011; daughter, Tammy Kiogima; and by his sister, Joann Burns.  Russell is survived by 4 children:  Russell (Cheryl) Shappee III, Teresa (Bruce) Davideit, Christine Ferguson, & Michael Shappee; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, & many great-great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Brusseau.  The family would like to thank Mercy Geriatrics, Hospice of Michigan – Newaygo County, and his granddaughter & her husband Rachel & Brent Robinson, for allowing him to be able to remain in his home.  There will be no visitation or service.  Suggested Memorial:  Hospice of Michigan – Newaygo County.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
