Russell John Smith

Mr. Russell John Smith, age 72 of Newaygo, passed away on August 2, 2020 at his residence.  He was born on October 14, 1947 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Russell Harold & Hazel Lucille (Dulyea) Smith, and he grew up in Howard City.  Russell was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, he was a welder, and he enjoyed hunting.  He is survived by his children:  Michelle (Tim) Cook, Kim (Duane) Knauf, and Sean (Cynthia) Smith; his grandchildren:  Joe Boden, Jennifer Wonnacott, Jeremy Cook, Jaedyn Cook, Brendan Knauf, Lauryn Knauf, Elise Knauf, Aiden Knauf, Michael Smith, & Daniel Smith; and by great grandchildren.  Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Hazel (Dulyea) Smith; and by his sister, Carol (Smith) Sherman.  According to his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Lori’s Voice (P.O.
