SHARON PEARSON
Holton
Sharon Rae Pearson, 83, of Holton, Michigan passed away on Wednesday afternoon, May 3, 2023 after a long illness.
She was born on November 11, 1939 to Earl and Raahmah (Powers) Hoenshell in Ferry, Michigan. She attended Hesperia High School where she graduated Salutatorian. While attending high school she met Gilbert Pearson of Fremont and they were later married on August 9, 1958.
She stayed busy raising her family and caring for other peoples children in her home. Her favorite past times included reading many Harlequin romances, and tanning in the sun. She was especially fond of holidays and the many feasts shared with extended family members. Never being fond of cooking, she still spent countless hours, canning and freezing produce from the garden. She also enjoyed watching and identifying wildlife on the lake and birds at her feeder, playing board games and weekly card nights with friends, camping, and attending events that her children and grandchildren were involved in. In her later years, by far her favorite meal was “Whoppers” not the hamburger kind, but the chocolate ones, followed by a butter cream mint for dessert!
She is survived by her daughter, Debby (John) Reinhold and their children; Aimie, Alex (fiancée Kayleigh Roessler), and Aaron; son Mitch Pearson; daughter-in-law Debbie Pearson and her children, Monica and Tanya, her very devoted sister, Laurel (Kevin) Malane of Dearborn; sister, Coral Dutcher of Hesperia; sister-in-laws Yvonne Hoenshell of Greenville; Shirley Pearson of Walkerville; and Barb Pearson of Kingsley; great-grandchildren, Monroe Pearson-Balavitch and Jaydn Pearson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert; her son John Pearson; her brother Elton Hoenshell, her brother-in-laws, Harold, Don and Earl Pearson; and her sister-in-law Alva Pearson.
According to her wishes there will be no memorial service. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you remember Sharon by donating to the Hesperia Community Library through the Fremont Area Community Foundation fund at Fremont Area Community Foundation.
