Stanley DeKuiper, age 89 of Fremont, passed away peacefully at Green Acres Assisted Living in Fremont on Sunday evening, July 2, 2023. He was born on December 3, 1933 in Muskegon, Michigan to LaVern & Dena (Nieboer) DeKuiper. Stan was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, and he was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont. His past business experiences included Schuiteman-DeKuiper Funeral Home in Fremont, DeKuiper Realty in Fremont, Newaygo County Treasurer, and Newaygo County Commissioner. On April 21, 1956 he married Patricia Montague and she survives him along with 4 children: Dennis (Brenda) DeKuiper, Douglas (Carla) DeKuiper, Paula Jones, Nancy (Tom) Modd; 11 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren; and by many nieces & nephews. Stan was preceded in death by his stillborn daughter, Jane Ann; son-in-law, Joseph Jones; sister, Wilma Hayward; and by his brothers: Morris, Donald, & Alvin DeKuiper. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Dave Brower officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Thursday.
