Mr. Steven Leonard Mullennix, age 52 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 23, 2022 at his home after a short illness. He was born on March 15, 1970 in Fremont, Michigan to David and Carolyn (York) Mullennix. Steve spent 6 years in the United States Navy where he earned the following medals: Kuwait Liberation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy E Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, M-14 Marksman Ribbon. After the Navy, he worked at Gerber Products for many years. Steve enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his 2 sons: Alex (Fiancé, Matthew Carrasco), Andon Mullennix; his step daughters: Micole (Mitchell) DeJohn, and her kids, Mayven and Marley; Alyssa (Daryll) Hambrock, and her kids, Oliver and Elliot; his father, David Mullennix; his siblings: Diana (Greg) Hanna, Cheryl (Mick) Hanna, Sheila (Brad) Begolka, Jim (Mary) Mullennix; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Mullennix, and by his niece, Breanna Hanna. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Dayton Center Wesleyan Church in Fremont (2192 S. Comstock Avenue) with Pastor Terry Hansen officiating. A time of visiting with the family will follow from 6-8 P.M. also at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alex and Andon Mullennix to help fund their education.
