Susan C. Bull, age 77 of Fremont, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids, Michigan, after a brief illness. She was born on September 6, 1944 in Hastings, Michigan to Harold and Lillian (DeWeerd) Ball. Susan was raised in Newaygo, and worked in her parents’ grocery store while growing up in the 1950’s. She lived for many years in the Manistee area and kept in contact with friends there. Later in life, she moved to Fremont to be close to her mother and sister’s family and enjoyed eating out at local Fremont eateries and getting her hair done. Susan also loved art and music and was an active member of First Congregational Church in Fremont. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, knitting & sewing, and playing “Words With Friends” online. She will be remembered for her kind heart, generosity of spirit, and hand-written cards crafted perfectly for the moment. She is survived by 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter: Kim (Bob) Ruppel of Grand Blanc, Michigan and their children: Ryan (Andrea) Ruppel and their daughter Gianna, and Dalton Ruppel; John K. (Deirdre Lohan) Bull of Bermuda and their son Jack Hamilton Lancey Bull; Anthony “Tony” (Kate Gibson) Bull of San Francisco, California and their daughter Bailey Bull; 2 sisters: Donna Isberg of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Betty (Jerry) Burnside of Fremont, Michigan; 1 brother, Harold Ball of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. Susan was preceded in death by her parents. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at First Congregational Church in Fremont with Rev Luke Schmalz officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at church, and there will be a time of visiting with the family prior to the service at church from 2-3 PM. In lieu of flowers, Susan has requested donations in her honor to be sent to the Church of the Brethren in Onekama, Michigan, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher.
