Susan Ann (Harig) Lord

Susan Ann (Harig) Lord, age 77 of Fremont, passed away on Thursday evening, July 13, 2023 at Christian Care Nursing Center in Muskegon.  She was born on May 23, 1946 in Fremont, Michigan to Englebert “Bob” & Nina (Whitsell) Harig.  Susan had been employed at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont for many years until her retirement in 2011.  Susan was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont.   She was an avid Detroit Lions & Tigers fan and rarely missed a game.  She enjoyed going to the casino with her friends and taking in any stray animal she came upon.  Susan was also a great cook and baker, where family gatherings involved preparing the entire meal together.  She was famous for her homemade bread, apple squares, and German chocolate cake.  Susan is survived by her 3 children:  Joseph (Ann) Lord, Jr.; Dennis (Susan) Lord; Barbara (Paul) Lord-Baugher; son-in-law Mike Foust and 7 grandchildren; Abigail, Andrea, Matthew, Alexandria, Kristen, Keith, and Stephanie.   She is also survived by many nieces & nephews.   She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Lord-Foust; former husband, Joseph Lord, Sr.; brother, Frederick Zadel; and by her sisters:  Sharon Schornagel, Barbara Dempkey, Jeanne Halverson, & Carol Hunt.  According to Susan’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 21, 2023 at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Fr. Pete Schafer as Celebrant.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 10-11 AM on Friday.  Suggested Memorial: Bellwether Harbor Animal Shelter of Fremont.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
