Sylva J. (Scott) Witte

Sylva J. Witte, age 101 of Fremont, passed away on Saturday morning, November 26, 2022 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont.  She was born on January 25, 1921 in Fremont, Michigan to George & Hattie (Speet) Scott.  Sylva was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont.  On November 23, 1945 she married Milo “Mike” Witte and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2010.  She was also preceded in death by her brother & his wife, Gerrit & Alma Scott; sister-in-law, Lorraine Scott; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law:  George & Minnie Witte, John & Nella Witte, Jr., Evelyn & Al Bol.  Sylva is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Daniel) Knuver of Newaygo; 3 grandchildren:  Brenda (Christopher) Eilers, Beth Ann Knuver, Jonathan (Amanda) Knuver; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Wayne (Marilynn) Scott of Fremont; and by several nieces & nephews.  The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 2, 2022 at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Rev. Drew Sweetman officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 11-12 Noon on Friday.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Suggested Memorials:  The First Christian Reformed Church Endowment Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation, or the Newaygo County Compassion Home.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
