Terry L. Helmer

Mr. Terry L. Helmer, age 78 of Hesperia, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Friday morning, December 18, 2020.  He was born on May 27, 1942 in Hart, Michigan to Glen & Lavina (Wambaugh) Helmer.  Terry had been employed by Howmet for 36 years until his retirement on November 30, 2001.  He was a member of Hesperia Baptist Church (White River Community Church) where he had served as a deacon.  Terry enjoyed wood crafting, and spending time with family.  On April 11, 1964 he married Shirley Ann Zoulek, and she preceded him in death on April 27, 2016.  Terry is survived by 2 children:  Jean Ann Westmoreland of Shelby, & Mark Lincoln Helmer of Hesperia; 6 grandchildren:  Gregory (Yuna) Keith, Jessica Keith, Brianna & Marissa Westmoreland, Tara Helmer, & Holly Ingalls; 1 great granddaughter, Alaya Garcia; 1 brother, Ray Helmer of Hart; and brothers-in-law:  Tony (Paulette) Zoulek of Shelby, Wayne Krocing of Rockford, IL.  Terry was also preceded in death by his sisters, Betty & Helen Helmer; by his parents; and by several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law.  According to his wishes, cremation has taken place, and due to COVID-19 restrictions a Private Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Hesperia Baptist Church (White River Community Church) with Rev.
