Mrs. Theresa Gill, age 100 of Fremont, passed away early Sunday morning, October 25, 2020 at Fountain View Retirement Village of Grant. She was born on June 2, 1920 in Fremont Michigan to Charles King and the former Florence Cook. She moved to Big Rapids, Michigan when she was 3 years old, and attended St Mary’s Catholic School until eighth grade. She graduated from Big Rapids High School, and attended Ferris State College. On June 29, 1940 she married Richard E. “Rich” Gill in Big Rapids, MI. and they moved to Fremont in 1945, where they designed, built, and decorated 3 Fremont area homes. Theresa was a successful real estate broker, she was an avid golfer, and she was active in All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont. She was a published author of children’s stories, and she spoke to many groups on a variety of topics. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. “Rich” Gill on March 20, 2017, and by her brother Robert Steiner. She is survived by 2 sons: Thomas (Barb) Gill, and Michael Gill; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, & 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Linda (Marv) Holler, and Nora Assante. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, A Private Family Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Fr. Pete Schafer as Celebrant.
