Thomas Alan Rushing

Thomas Alan Rushing, age 74 of Rothbury, passed away on Tuesday evening, April 6, 2021 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  He was born on August 27, 1946 in Muskegon, Michigan to James A & Francis “Margaret” (Wilson) Rushing.  Tom was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, he was a Disabled American Veteran, and he was a member of the White Lake VFW Post 3256.  He was retired from Sealed Power.  Tom was dedicated to his wife of 53 years and to his 4 children.  He loved his family more than anything and took any opportunity to make sure they knew.  He enjoyed golfing, the beach, watching western classics, and long drives.  Tom is survived by his wife, Dawn (Meeuwenberg) Rushing; 4 children:  Cheyney (Penny) Rushing, Kama (Marci Anderson) Rushing, Thomas (Linnette) Rushing II, Cassondra Rushing; 13 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren:  Hannah (Cody Kater) McLouth, Cheyney (Kaleigh) Rushing & children Owen & Noah, Neah (Brandon Moore) McLouth & children Sacora & Isley, Paige (Justin Carroll) Rushing, Raven Rushing, Tasia (Dylan Lee) Rushing & daughter Magnolia, Antonio Aldridge, Luke Rushing, Takara Anderson, Javari Aldridge, Luola Aldridge, Roman Davis, & Phoenix Davis; sister, Geraldine Skinner; brother, James D. Rushing; and step-siblings, Terry Kokx & Suzy Crawford.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Francis “Margaret” Kokx & James A. Rushing; by 2 sisters, Stella Degan & Marinda Wyant; and by 1 brother, Timothy Rushing.  The location, date, and time of the celebration of life for Thomas Alan Rushing has yet to be determined.  Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery near Battle Creek, Michigan.  Suggested Memorial:  White Lake VFW Post 3256.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
